We Sing the Body

Dance music for a video project, choreographed and videography by Roberta Shaw.

Using the poetry of Walt Whitman as the representation of organic emotion and passion in juxtaposition to the limited expressivity of synthetic voice and electronics, Shaw draws on the conflict via movement of bodies in ebb and flow, exploriong the relationship between the synthetic component parts and asking whether a new, emergent organic relationship can emerge.
