"Giacomo's Song" is an aria from a musical setting of Santa Barbara poet Teddy Macker's, "Halo of Dust." The full poem switches between third and first person perspectives, as well as prose and verse to signal moments of introspective wisdom.

At this moment in the poem, an everyman, Giacomo, decides he wants to live a more enlightened life and join Saint Francis’s brotherhood. In the midst of distrust and upheaval from the brotherhood, they hear this prayer come from Giacomo’s private chambers.
